do you think the U.S. would be better if they legalize marijuana or do you think it would just cause more havoc?

What year is marijuana going to be legalized? No doubt it is as we have medical marijauna and that’s the first step to completely legalizing it. Plus, in Canada it’s pretty much legal despite them keeping it illegal on the books to appease the U.S. You can walk into a coffe shop and buy pot in Canada. THey are our neighbor so it’s only a matter of time till we legalize it. How long do you think til it’s legal? I’m going to say by 2015.
I wasn’t going to turn this into a debate of how harmful marijuana is but since some people are answering that way I will throw out a few facts.

I don’t believe in these gateway drug theories but if people want to bring that up tobacco and alcohol are used by most people before marijuana. Those are gateway drugs and are legal so the gateway drug theory can’t be the reason to keep it illegal. In terms of it being harmful, alcohol killls many people each year from both alcohol poisoning and the affects it has on the liver. Marijuana has been proven not to cause cancer when smoked. It’s also a fact marijuana has never killed anyone in the history of the world, no lie, it’s impossible to overdose, a person would fall asleep prior to that happening. Also, both alcohol and tobacco are physicall addictive, marijuana is not. It’s being debated whether it’s mentally addictive but alcohol and tobacco are both physically and mentally addictive.
