legalize marijuana December 16th, 2009

@Ballslaw haha I agree.

The study also concludes that over 50% of fatal accidents involve alcohol. Only a small number involve marijuana, and most of those also involved alcohol.
Funny side note: The study had to be done in Holland (I assume for legal reasons) and used actual stoned Dutch drivers! It was paid for by our government too, which is something given our history of demonizing this drug.

Here’s a factoid for those that may be concerned that marijuana may be especially dangerous to drive while under the influence of. Please read this study from the US department of Transportation:

It basically concludes that in HIGH doses it PROBABLY impairs drivers but that there is NO evidence that in typical consumption that it contributes substantially to the rate of vehicular accidents.

get rid of the fda
December 17th, 2009 at 1:07 am
it wont prophit the same as cegerrets but it will do pretty good
December 17th, 2009 at 1:24 am
i know, i grow that too, but my point is, both processes are so easy that anyone could do them, but alcohol companies have a monopoly so there is no reason to imagine that if corperations got hold of weed the same wouldn’t happen.

This is the first intelligent thing i have ever heard Glen Beck say!

Mexican cartels operate in Washington too (they’re not too north for the cartels). Even if you know where yours comes from, the cartels are in almost every state. Here’s a link from the associated press that shows where they’re active (just about everywhere):

I think a lot people don’t realize that they have presence in the entire country and marijuana is still their top money maker.
Keep smoking the local and lets get it legalized.

Holy hell when Glenn Beck supports legalization you know it’s gonna happen!
December 17th, 2009 at 3:00 am
Haha I live in Washington home of Hempfest:) we’re too far up north for that Mexican brick shit so I don’t gotta have a guilt trip everytime I toke up:) all locally grown baby!
December 17th, 2009 at 3:09 am
yea but to grow pot all you need is some dirt and a green light and your on ya way
December 17th, 2009 at 3:30 am
Yeah, I make my own beer, and in my state I can brew 200 gallons a year because I’m married. I don’t come anywhere near that! It’s a good deal, it’s fun, and it’s delicious. I hope that if marijuana is legalized that it will be similar in that you are allowed by law to grow a certain amount for your own consumption. I don’t even smoke anymore, but I would consider it to help with my back pain.

gotta disagree buggeazy102, it is quite easy to produce your own beer, cider or wine, you can buy kits to do it at home, in costs us 10 pounds (16.23 u.s dollars) to produce 40 pints of beer, that’s 25 pence (41 cents) per pint, not bad i’m sure you’ll agree.
December 17th, 2009 at 4:54 am
maybe a tad optimistic, but we can only hope.
December 17th, 2009 at 5:17 am
i will tell you guys the future. weed will become legal in the next 5 years, and then in the next 10 years april 20th will be a nationional holiday.
December 17th, 2009 at 5:52 am
mexico’s legalization of drugs is having big effect on CIA profits. ten bucks a gram for good weed down south now. pretty soon swat people won’t be having huuuge houses with pools. ain’t that a shame?
December 17th, 2009 at 6:25 am
the differance between alcohal and pot is you can easly learn to grow pot its not easy to make alcohal and its not easy to make a cigerret but its much easyer to roll a joint its all about prophit they dont want to loose it from bootleg sellers they would have been legalized this if my comment wasnt true
December 17th, 2009 at 7:04 am
It really is a victimless crime as long as you know where your pot comes from. That’s the problem. Not everyone has excess to locally grown marijuana that’s grown by a nice mom and pop operation. Obviously, states that have access to med. mar. have a lot more access and are better able to compete with the more sinister sources. Just make sure you know where yours came from.
December 17th, 2009 at 7:10 am
The point being that if it were grown by legal local sources, we would eliminate Mexican cartels and other unsavory criminal elements from the equation.
December 17th, 2009 at 7:22 am
If somebody is using pot from a source that goes back to violent criminals (Mexican cartels) then there are victims. However, if I grow a plant and smoke what I grew, that is illegal but there is no victim. If you disagree, then who is the victim in this case?
December 17th, 2009 at 7:37 am
I actually agree with Glen Beck. Thought it would be a cold day in hell before that happened… brrr.. it’s getting cold.
December 17th, 2009 at 8:17 am
I have to wonder how smoking marijuana creates victims. Its not carcinogenic. As long as people follow the same rules as they would while drinking (something that is legal) than no one gets hurt. You cant even overdose on the stuff.
December 17th, 2009 at 9:12 am
I love the fact how Rozental forgot to answer how smoking marijuana is not a victimless crime. I mean honestly, if anyone can explain to me how smoking marijuana is NOT a VICTIMLESS crime, I invite you to educate me.
December 17th, 2009 at 9:45 am
The first time i’ve ever agreed with this man. I’m afraid
December 17th, 2009 at 10:30 am
piss test are harsh in america it seems to do alot of things they want your piss?
i think if weed was legalized in north america could be rather good for everyone , people in the state wouldnt be charged with federal crimes and weed wouldnt be group in with drugs shown to only have neg. effects coke herion ect weed doesnt even do as much damage as tabbacco
